Award-winning jazz vocalist Clare Teal and her outstanding Trio present fabulous musical arrangements interspersed with warm and entertaining storytelling. The Wiltshire Youth Jazz Orchestra bursts into life with an effervescent and energised performance of beloved jazz classics.

Joining them are two formidable guest artists to lead this special concert: pianist and arranger Malcolm Edmonstone is Artistic Director of the National Youth Jazz Orchestra of Scotland, and Ryan Quigley is recognised the world over as a leading trumpet player and virtuosic improvisor.

In this presented family concert National Youth Jazz Orchestra Artistic Director Mark Armstrong and his NYJO Ambassadors lift the lid on how jazz works, exploring the instruments, the story behind the music, improvisation and how jazz musicians play together.

The concert features lots of interactive games and lively performances to spark curiosity and fire the imagination.

JOHN ETHERIDGE’S SWEET CHORUS, Sunday 19th May, 7:30pm

Formed 20 years ago by legendary guitarist John Etheridge to celebrate the work of the 20th century’s greatest jazz violinist Stephane Grappelli, with whom he toured the world for five years, Sweet Chorus is a dazzling and joyful celebration of masterful acoustic jazz.

With a mixture of standards, American swing, Latin American and original compositions, this performance is an affectionate reminiscence of a man who was eccentric, inspired and individual.

We are delighted to welcome three stellar WMC Artists in Residence (past and present) for a one-off collaborative concert that will combine virtuoso performances, scintillating improvisations, and top-class music-making at its best.
